RE: HELP!! Flooded TT

Also, go rent one of those floor fans. They are those ones that look like a conk shell and blow air on floors to dry them in commercial establishments. They push a LOT of air.

RE: FBI warning about wifi security

It's not so much the encryption of the contents, but also someone sniffing the network would be able to see your username and password to get in to your mail or whatever. Most people use common passwords, so it's likely that the same password might get you into your ebay, other forums, maybe your work or bank... blah blah. It's information gathering that is the culprit, not so much your discussion privacy.

RE: Does this RV exist?

A lot of manufacturers will do custom if you don't mind the wait (and cost).

RE: Tips on tracing an electrical draw

I'd suggest that you get a helper. Set a multimeter on Amperage. Then disconnect battery and put meter inline. Then turn on a light, if it shows + then great, if it shows -, then reverse the wires. With everything turned off, note the draw. Then start pulling fuses until the draw stops. Then put all fuses except the last one in (to be sure that is the culprit). That will be the circuit in question.

RE: anyway to get more pressure from shower?

So what was the pressure before you guys changed the head/removed the regulator? Mine is so dismal that if I flip the showerhead so it's spraying up, it won't actually arch out of the head but instead creates a pool of water in the head with a 1/4 inch fountain...maybe. Really really nasty.

RE: Travel trailer covers

What about just using one of those blue tarps that are 40x50 (or whatever is necessary. Just like what you could cover a pool with. Then weigh down the corners like Dick does with his tarp? If you got it wide enough, you could bring it down (or maybe needing 2) to the wheel level and then cinch it tight around the base. Wouldn't that do?

RE: bunk bed issue?

We used the bed rails from toys-r-us. Fits alright, not the greatest due to the lip that holds the mattress in. My little fella only fell once and that was when Mom was trying to get him down without waking me. Apparently I made for a soft and giggle worthy landing pad.

RE: Friction Sway help

If you do the cloth thing and get an air wrench under it, it'll probably spin up and tighten fast enough to avoid putting too much pressure on the ball with the pipewrench.

RE: Toronto Rush Hour

I drive from Hamilton past the Airport every single day at approximately that time. If you leave and get on the highway where the 407/QEW splits before 5:30 you should get to the airport by 6:45 maybe 7. That is pretty much constant. However as others have stated, if there is an accident, or you miss the 6am deadline, you will be stuck in traffic. If I get to that fork after 6am, I always take the 407. It costs more, but my time is worth more than that to me and I'm not a patient fella. So start early and you should be fine.

RE: drycamping for the first time at the end of this summer

Hey Dave, ya that's the place no doubt. We are in lot...1 I think... or 2. Can't remember now. Anyhow, if there are honey wagons I'm happy. Otherwise I think we'll use the generator to charge the batteries and run everything off the batteries and the TV off the inverter. The generator is not an RV, but it's just a tad bit louder and NOT a contractor grade so I'm comfortable with that during day hours. How long would it take to charge those batteries? Couple hours?

Jay... the option is available for 12v accessories such as a 12v compressor, etc.

RE: how do you make phone calls in BC and Yukon?

Payphones are not as common as they use to be. However, you should find them at all your malls, gas stations, campgrounds(hopefully), etc. Cell coverage will vary due to the terrain (of course), but there are Roaming agreements and I don't think you'll be out of luck. Even if you can't roam, 911 will still work if necessary. Highspeed internet will be isolated a bit, but tend to be free more than not in most areas (as I've found anyway). However the quality hasn't been able to support voip the one attempt I had made at the time.

RE: finding frame members (stud finder)

Can't you gently press along your walls until they won't flex? That's how I located mine. It was...flex...flex...less...less..none..more...more...flex..flex. Then I knew where that one was, and then I went 16" from there and found the next, and the next and....

RE: What a dummy!

Definitely go for it. But make sure it's obviously a humour attempt so you don't get pulled over for having someone in your tow vehicle. Maybe a stuffed animal like bigbird or a horse or something like that.

RE: What liquid "soap" to use in the shower? (reduce scrubbing)

I'd use the after shower spray. As well, I use the Old Spice bodywash, but I find it doesn't lather the best..but it'll do. There is a bit of a film, but I've gotten use to it. As for using soft water, I don't know if you can put a water softening system easily in your Camper.

RE: Are Used Travel Trailers Selling

When we bought, we were looking at used, but found that we could get a new one within 2k of the used one so we went new.
